The elements, by Oliver Byrne (1847)
I am amazed by one of the greatest books ever written: Euclid’s elements. However it is pretty dry and the characters are pretty flat in the book (haha..). Anyway, this colourful edition by an engineer in the victorian era looks so incredibly modern. It is absolutely beautiful and at the same time so weird that is a pretty old book!
This lady gives great commentary on the book.
I would really like to make such a nice book, but for derivations. Simplified derivations at high-school level with beautiful art and nice colours. No publisher wants to publish that, but you could just publish it on a site.
